Lloyd graduated from Monash University in 1996 with a combined Law / Economics degree. In 1997 Lloyd commenced a 7 year stint with a well established suburban legal firm during which time he oversaw and developed that firms' property and domestic building practice. In addition, he advised on media law matters and acted as a legal advisor to the Hobsons Bay City Council, a role which he continues at Brand Partners.
Lloyd has a keen interest in media, radio media in particular. He has lectured in broadcast law, is on the Board of and legal adviser to the Progressive Broadcasting Co-operative Ltd.

In his spare time, Lloyd maintains an interest in broadcasting and music.
