
In 2001 he commenced working as an accountant for Linardos Chartered Accountants in Melbourne. He is an associate member of CPA Australia.
In 2002 Liming commenced a law degree at the University of Melbourne and in 2003 graduated from Melbourne University Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. He also completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law (NSW) in 2004. He is the first Chinese Australian with a Mainland China background to graduate from the Melbourne Juris Doctor Program.
Liming is an accredited professional interpreter and translator (Chinese<>English) and acts as a consultant translator for Deakin University in its legal documentation with China.
Liming joined the Commercial Law department at Brand Partners in March 2007, having worked previously at Fernandez and Johnson.

In 1982, Liming graduated from Fujian Provincial Institute of Foreign Trade with a major in International Trade. After his graduation, he worked in the fields of International Trade and Sino-foreign joint ventures with the Putian County Foreign Trade Corporation, China.
During this period Liming conducted high level negotiations with both small and major foreign corporations to assist in the establishment of Sino-foreign joint ventures. Amongst a number of projects, he was a lead negotiator representing the Putian County Government in negotiations with significant foreign businesses and local Government departments which led to the successful establishment of a major footwear manufacturer in Putian County.
In 1986 Liming was appointed to the senior position of Manager of the Footwear Department of Putian County Foreign Trade Corporation. During his time in this position he was one of a very few foreign trade managers to help establish Putian County as a key footwear production base through joint ventures in China.
In 1988 Liming was awarded the Second Prize in the Fujian Provincial Inaugural International Trade and Foreign Investment Knowledge Competition held by Fujian Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Commission, China. He was also awarded the title Model Worker of the Year in Putian County.
In 1989 he won an Overseas Scholarship in International Trade. This enabled Liming to travel and study abroad.
In 1995 Liming immigrated to Australia.
Liming understands foreign trade practices, joint ventures law and practices in China. He has practical hands on experience in working at a high level with governmental instrumentalities in China.
